The conference on Natural Language Processing and Chinese Computing (NLPCC) is the annual meeting of the CCF TCCI (Technical Committee of Chinese Information, China Computer Federation). NLPCC is a leading international conference specialized in the fields of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Chinese Computing (CC). It serves as a main forum for researchers and practitioners from academia, industry, and government to share their ideas, research results and experiences, and to promote their research and technical innovations in these fields. In addition, the CCF Advanced Discipline Lecture (ADL) conventionally runs in parallel with the conference as NLPCC tutorials, which is traditionally delivered by world renowned scientists. The primary objective is to introduce the latest NLP & CC research and technology to young researchers and students who are interested in the fields. Previous NLPCC conferences and ADLs were successfully held in Beijing (2012), Chongqing (2013) and Shenzhen (2014).
Today, NLP and CC technologies are among the most active research and development areas due to rapid advancement of the Internet as well as the worldwide proliferation of mobile devices and social media. These fields are facing many new challenges arising from intelligent applications and big data, such as business intelligence, social analytics, etc. The fourth conference of NLPCC will focus on Natural Language Analysis and Understanding in Big Data including Fundamental Research in Language Computing, Multi-Lingual Access, Web Mining/Text Mining, Machine Learning for NLP, Knowledge Graph, NLP for Social Network, Information Retrieval, Question & Answering as well as the Applications of Language Computing.
Noticeably, NLPCC 2015 keynote speakers include Dan Roth (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA), Jian-Yun Nie (University of Montreal, Canada) and Hang Li (Noah’s Ark Lab, Huawei, China). And NLPCC Tutorials/ADL will be delivered by Jiawei Han (University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, USA), Tat-Seng Chua (National University of Singapore, Singapore), Jianzhong Li (Harbin Insitute of Technology, China), Hang Li (Noah’s Ark Lab, Huawei, China), Xueqi Cheng (Chinese Academy of Sciences, China), and Chao Liu (Sogou Inc., China).
NLPCC 2015 Conference will arrange keynotes, panel, ADL/tutorials, poster/demo, industry expo and Campus Open Day, as well as multi-track sessions of research paper reports.
NLPCC 2015 tutorials, held as CCF ADL(Advanced Disciplines Lectures) No. 59, will invite domestic and international specialists to give six lectures/tutorials in three days on Natural Language Processing in the Era of Big Data: Theory, Algorithm and Architecture.
CCF Open Funding Project Workshop and Technical Evaluation Workshop will be held with NLPCC 2015 conference.
