We are pleased to announce that a student workshop (SW) will be held in conjunction with NLPCC 2016 in Kunming for the first time. The SW is designed to provide opportunities for students to present their work and communicate with experienced researchers. Each accepted paper will be assigned a dedicated mentor according to the topic of the paper, who will be responsible for providing feedback on the work to the student. In addition, the SW will feature an invited talk on research skills, scientific writing and presentation, as well as a panel discussion on career path from distinguished academic and industrial panelists. The SW is a valuable new addition to recent NLPCC conferences. We expect that it will be a great place for students to network and socialize with other participants.
We would like to invite student researchers to submit their work to the workshop. Topics of interest for the SW are the same as those for the NLPCC main conference. Please see the list of topics here.
The SW solicits research papers that describe original completed work or work in progress with preliminary results. The first author of multi-author papers MUST be a student, though it is not required that all co-authors be students.
Both Chinese and English submissions are welcome. Chinese submissions should follow the formatting instructions of Journal of Computer Applications [Format Template]. English submissions should follow the standard Springer style sheets [LaTeX][Microsoft Word]. The length of each submission should not more than 8 pages, including references. Please use the main conference submission system to submit your paper and pay attention to select the student workshop for your submission.
All papers accepted by the student workshop will be published in a combined volume of the NLPCC 2016 Proceedings series. Chinese papers will also be published in Journal of Computer Applications. Selected excellent papers will be recommended to be published at ACTA Scientiarum Naturalium Universitatis Pekinensis (for Chinese papers) or Springer LNAI series (for English papers), further revisions maybe required to meet their standard.
Submissions must conform to the specifications of NLPCC 2016 call for papers regarding multiple submissions and preparing papers for the double-blind review process. Papers which do not conform to these specifications will be rejected without review.
