The CCF International conference on Natural Language Processing and Chinese Computing (NLPCC) is the annual meeting of CCF TCCI (Technical Committee of Chinese Information, China Computer Federation). NLPCC is a leading international conference specialized in the fields of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and Chinese Computing (CC). It serves as a main forum for researchers and practitioners from academia, industry and government to share ideas, research results and experiences, to promote research and technical innovations in the fields. Previous NLPCC conferences were successfully held in Beijing (2012), Chongqing (2013), Shenzhen (2014), Nanchang (2015), Kunming (2016), and Dalian (2017).
Today, NLP and Chinese Computing technologies are among the most active research and development areas due to rapid advancement of the Internet as well as the worldwide proliferation of mobile devices and social media. The fields are facing many new challenges arising from big data and intelligent applications, such as business intelligence, text analytics, etc. The Seventh Conference of NLPCC will focus on Natural Language Analysis and Understanding in Big Data including Fundamental Research in Language Computing, Multilingual Access, Web Mining/Text Mining, Machine Learning for NLP, Knowledge Graph, Information Extraction, Question Answering, Information Retrieval, Chatbot, NLP for Social Networks, as well as the Applications of Language Computing.
China Computer Federation is pleased to announce that the Seventh CCF International conference on Natural Language Processing and Chinese Computing (NLPCC 2018) will take place in Hohhot, China, from August 26 to 30, 2018.
NLPCC 2018 will feature keynote speakers Prof. Charles Ling (Tenured Full and Science Distinguished Research Professor, University of Western Ontario, Canada), Joyce Chai (Professor, Michigan State University, USA), Dr. Cristian Danescu-Niculescu-Mizil (Assistant Professor, Cornell University, USA), and Dr. Luo Si (Chief Scientist of NLP with Alibaba DAMO Institute Machine Intelligence Technologies, China). NLPCC 2018 Tutorials/CCF ADL 92 will be delivered by Dr. Tie-Yan Liu (assistant managing director, Microsoft Research Asia), Dr. Xipeng Qiu (associate professor, Fudan University), Prof. Jian-Yun Nie (University of Montreal), Dr. Yue Zhang (assistant professor, Singapore University of Technology and Design), Dr. Yiqun Liu (tenured associated professor, Tsinghua University) and Dr. Jie Bao (the Co-founder and CEO at Memect).
NLPCC 2018 Conference has arranged keynotes, tutorials/ADL, multi-track sessions of research paper reports, technical workshops, student workshop, shared task workshop, poster/demo, and industry expo.
NLPCC 2018 tutorials, held as CCF ADL 92 (Advanced Disciplines Lectures), will feature domestic and international specialists to give six lectures/tutorials in three days on Natural Language Understanding with Novel Learning and Knowledge.
Technical Workshops, Student Workshop, Shared Task Workshop will be held with NLPCC 2018 conference.

The Best Paper Award (sponsored by Microsoft Research) and Best Student Paper Award (sponsored by AFNLP), as well as Distinguish Paper Awards (sponsored by Springer) of NLPCC 2018 will be selected independently by the Best Paper Award Committee.
NLPCC 2018 will provide a limited number of Travel Grants and Industrial Demo Grants to scholars and industrial participants:
◆ All authors who have submitted to NLPCC 2018 are eligible to apply for the Travel Grants to attend NLPCC 2018. Priority will be given to applicants from west or middle regions of China as well as the students all over the world.
◆ In addition, scholars or students who have published (or have papers accepted), as first author, in the leading international conferences or journals within the last 12 months, are eligible to apply to Grants for Free Registration of NLPCC 2018.
◆ Eligible applicants are encouraged to submit their grant application forms (http://tcci.ccf.org.cn/conference/2018/info.php) after completing their early-bird registration for NLPCC 2018.
