About the Program

To further promote academic exchange and collaboration among young researchers in natural language processing, speech, audio, and related fields, NLPCC and NCMMSC, two major academic conferences organized under technical committees of the China Computer Federation (CCF), have jointly established a reciprocal student exchange and funding program. The program aims to strengthen interaction between the NLP and speech research communities and provide young researchers with opportunities to broaden their academic perspectives and develop interdisciplinary connections.

Under this program, the Organizing Committees of NLPCC 2026 and NCMMSC 2026 will provide funding support for selected student authors to attend each other's conferences and participate in designated academic exchange activities.

Applications are now invited from eligible NLPCC 2026 student authors. Details of the program are provided below.

I. Funding Support

The program will support up to 30 students to attend NCMMSC 2026. Selected students will receive the following support from NCMMSC 2026:

  • Waiver of the registration fee for the NCMMSC 2026 Main Conference;
  • Three nights of accommodation in Zhuhai during NCMMSC 2026 (November 5, 6, and 7), with two students sharing a room in principle.

All other expenses associated with attending the conference shall be borne by the students themselves.

II. Eligibility

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Be a currently enrolled undergraduate, master's, or doctoral student at a university or research institution in China at the time of NLPCC 2026 and NCMMSC 2026;
  2. Be an author of a paper accepted by NLPCC 2026 and have registered to attend NLPCC 2026;
  3. Demonstrate a strong interest in academic exchange and be available to participate in the designated academic activities of NCMMSC 2026.

If the number of applications exceeds the available places, the NLPCC 2026 Organizing Committee will conduct a selection based on the applications received and submit the final list of recommended students to the NCMMSC 2026 Organizing Committee.

III. Requirements for Funded Students

Students receiving funding are expected to participate in the designated activities of NCMMSC 2026 and fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Participate in Designated Academic Exchange Activities: Funded students are required to participate in academic exchange activities specially organized by NCMMSC 2026. The activities are tentatively expected to include oral or poster presentations, during which students will present their research and engage in academic exchange as arranged. Detailed arrangements will be announced by the Organizing Committee at a later date.
  2. Submit a Conference Participation Report: After attending NCMMSC 2026, funded students are required to submit a conference participation report documenting their academic and exchange activities during the conference. The report should include a brief summary of the activities attended, key academic takeaways and reflections, photographs of their participation in relevant conference activities, and a brief account of their overall participation and exchange experience. Students who fail to submit the report as required may be ineligible for subsequent related funding programs organized by NLPCC, including funding programs offered independently or jointly by NLPCC and NCMMSC.

IV. Application and Selection

Applicants should submit the following information and supporting materials:

  • Name, university/research institution, school/department, year of study, and student status (undergraduate, master's student, or doctoral student);
  • Telephone number and email address, consistent with the contact information provided during NLPCC 2026 registration;
  • NLPCC 2026 paper information, including Paper ID, paper title, and presentation format (Oral/Poster);

  • A brief statement explaining the applicant's motivation for attending NCMMSC 2026;
  • A copy of the applicant's student ID and any other supporting materials required by the conference.
